Carl Rankin

Carl contracts part time to WorldSkills New Zealand as the General Manager. Carl ensures that the organisations strategic intent and vision for WorldSkills New Zealand is carried out: To be New Zealand’s Champion in the development of work skills excellence.

Carl is no stranger to vocational education, he has worked for small to medium enterprise, trade associations, a PTE and group employer, and has also run his own consultancy business. He has been a judge for the New Zealand electrical apprentice of the year competition for 4 years and ran the competition for a further six years.

With his strong private sector background Carl is focused on ensuring that WorldSkills New Zealand delivers value to industry and provides benefit to New Zealand Inc.

Carl is a qualified electrician, holds management and health and safety qualifications along with an MBA from Massey University.
