Delving into Dalton Electrical

Dalton Electrical has supported three competitors and two skills experts to World Skills competitions in London 2011, Germany 2013, and in Abu Dhabi 2017. It is not an easy road and comes with significant cost and effort by all parties, but it is like the Olympics for trades, so if you want to test yourself against the best, it’s the place to be.

It is a very steep learning curve for the competitors, and they all developed significantly in speed, skill level, working under pressure and organizational ability. It is no surprise that all three competitors now work as electrical engineers or management positions at Dalton Electrical and are now passing on those skills to other Dalton team members.

Our purpose statement is “To be the first choice industrial electrical company as seen by customers and employees” and one of the key ways we achieve this is by “Training and retaining technically superior people”. Competing well in industry competitions is a great way to measure our training against our peers and drives a culture of people wanting to be the best they can be. Competing in industry competitions is also a great thing to have on your CV and regardless of where you place, you learn a lot from just being involved.
