Clint Baddley


Clint has worked as a Fitter/Welder in three Industries: gas, cement, and freezing, before becoming a senior negotiator with the Engineers Union now E tu based in Hamilton.

He spent 18 years on the Board of Wintec, holding the role of Deputy chair and chair of Building and assets for most of that time. This period included the development and growth of one of the most modern Polytechnics in the Country including the most up to date Engineering training Centre’s.

Up until retiring in2016 from local Government, Clint was elected four times as a Waikato District Councillor representing Raglan, during that time he was Deputy mayor and chair of the Councils finance and Strategy committee. From 2004 until 2012, he was a Government appointment to Trust Waikato, the Waikato’s largest philanthropy organisation, ending his term as chair.

In 2016, he was made an Honorary Fellow at Wintec for services to Manufacturing, Community and Wintec.

Currently, Clint is Chairperson of Community Waikato an organization-supporting Volunteer groups across the Waikato region.

He is self employed as a Public and Private advocate, working across a number of industries.

Clint still holds a strong passion for the trades and sees WordSkills as the ultimate organisation for the promotion of excellence.
