Sudheer Ramjathan gained a Gold Medal in the 'AMI Insurance' sponsored Autobody Repair skill category at the SkillEX 2006 National Finals Competition held in September 2006. Sudheer meets the criteria and high performance standards required for WorldSkills and has been invited to be part of the NZ Team competing at the 2007 WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shizuoka, Japan in November this year.

Sudheer completed his National Certificate in Autobody Repair in 2003 and is currently working for 'Colin Waite Ltd' in Auckland. Sudheer developed a passion for cars at an early age and continues to race and modify anything with wheels in his spare time.

He enjoys all the aspects of his work and the different people that he meets and sees his experience at the WorldSkills Finals as a fantastic opportunity to enhance his career and develop his skills.

Sudheer would encourage any school leaver to join this rewarding industry and believes if you work hard and give it your best, you will gain great satisfaction from your job and he also thinks it's smart to earn whilst you learn. Entering the SkillEX Regional Competition and winning gold at the Nationals has put Sudheer on a career high and gained him acknowledgment from his peers and from the wider NZ Automotive industry.

Sudheer aims to claim Gold at the WorldSkills Finals and is looking forward to all the extra training he will receive over the next 10 months, he wants to prove to the rest of the World that there is a wealth of talented young tradesmen in New Zealand.
